Vice President: Sian Atkinson (Education and Representation)

Hey, my name is Sian and I’m the Vice President for Education and Representation.

For 17/18 I’m going to introduce better representation across all courses for all students of all abilities. Open communication will be at the forefront this year between university staff, the guild and students. Regular updates will also be available so you can see what the guild does for you!

Can’t wait to see you all in September, feel free to contact me via email or on social media if you have any questions.

Hey, my name is Sian and I’m the Vice President for Education and Representation. I am currently studying an MA in Learning and Teaching and previous to that graduated from BA (hons) Specialist Hair and Media Make up meaning this will be my fifth year at UCB! I have worked with the university throughout my entire time at UCB in several roles including as an ambassador, assistant hall manager and hall manager and am privileged to be a part of the guild of students this year as an exec.

As the Vice president of Education it is my job to represent all students; undergrad, postgrad, mature and FE in all aspects of education. This includes everything to do with your course. I will be setting up an open anonymous online forum for suggestions you would like us to implement.

For 17/18 I’m going to  introduce better representation across all courses for all students of all abilities. Beginning with course reps which will be better represented this year with information via the guild website and the introduction of rep socials. I will also be working with other services the university provides such as, Hired and CASE to raise awareness and provide better support for students.

Open communication will be at the forefront this year between university staff, the guild and students. Regular updates will also be available so you can see what the guild does for you!

Can’t wait to see you guys this year, feel free to contact me via email or on social media if you have any questions. Alternatively we have an open door policy so you can catch me at the Summer Row guild office on Wednesday 10-4pm and in our Mcintyre House guild office on Thursdays 10-4pm.
