UCB Guild Leadership Elections

Here you can find a list of candidates running for an officer role in this year's Elections. Their manifestos are linked next to their names. Make sure you read through them and VOTE for those who you believe best reflect your views.

Voting opens on Monday 25th March at 9 am and closes on Friday 29th March at 4 pm. Voting is done through the UCB Portal (link will be provided once voting opens). Note only ONE vote can be placed per student.

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer? 
I strongly believe I can make a huge impact if elected as President to not only the student experience, but how efficiently The Guild is run on a day to day basis. I promise to work hard to make The Guild inclusive and influential for all students.
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
1. Implementing changes suggested by the student body at UCB.
2. Ensure that UCB and The Guild are integrated more smoothly.
3. Ensure that the ongoing future of The Guild remains influential and supportive for all current and future UCB students through implementing systems to improve the student experience.

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer? 
I have decided to re-run as President because in the past year The Guild has grown due to the hard work of the team, I have throughly enjoyed leading the Officers and believe that with myself at the helm we can continue to develop, this will be achieved by engaging with more students and responding to their concerns and feedback.
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
1) Reach out to students not currently involved in the Guild (College, Post Grads, School of Education)
2) Enterprise Support; Grow student businesses (Food, Beauty, Sports, Events)
3) Build an Inclusive Community (Female, LGBT, International, European, Disabled, Black Asian Minority Ethnic)

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer? 
I've been studying here at UCB for almost three years and managed to connect with the University making it essential for me to use the knowledge I've gathered to help make UCB a better institution in relation to the student experience. I've seen a lot that could be improved here at UCB, and my dream is to be part of that team that makes these changes happen now thereby ensuring a better student experience.
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
Improve promotional strategies on the services offer by UCB guild of students and UCB.
More quiet study areas for students
Improve communication between students and lecturers in relation to academic work

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer?
Because i want to continue to make changes at UCB that positively impact the student experience, and to represent students to those who can implement changes at UCB.
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
A more diverse University
A Stronger student voice
Be part of a team the students can rely on

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer?
I would like the opportunity to become a guild officer as I want to make cakes great once again
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
I want to ensure there is constant communication between the guild and all its daily run activity hosts ( mainly societies). AS well as the first reason, I want to give the students at UCB a more understanding of what the guild really does. finally I want to make cakes great again

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer? 
I want to help in any way possible i can.I care about people and i thinks that's the society still have to improve.
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
Help people, gaing experience and create a better environment.

Why are you running to be a Guild Officer? 
I am running to be a guild officer because being a disabled individual myself and coming from an ethnic minority I feel as though it is very important for students from a similar background to have their voices heard and to feel apart of UCB no matter who they are.
 
What are the three main things you hope to achieve if you are elected?
If I am elected, I hope to encourage more students with a disability or those from ethnic minorities to be more involved at UCB for example becoming part of a sports society. I would also like to promote equality and inclusion because I believe every student at UCB deserves to be apart of a safe and welcoming learning environment no matter what gender, ethnicity, race or ability.
