Club Captain - Bobbie Jade Solkhon
Joining a society at UCB is a good way to socialise, meet new people and get out of your comfort zone!
Cheerleading is one of the biggest society's at UCB, welcoming both genders. We are a friendly, family like society with a mixture of both training and social members. Whether you are flexible or not, can dance or just want to have some fun then cheerleading is open to you! No experience is needed even most current members had never done cheerleading before joining university!
We are a competitive society with a coach who comes in twice a week and our sessions are filled with fun, laughs, games, hard work, dance routines and stunts. Throughout the year we learn the basics of cheer, so we can improve and gather routines for competitions which we attend twice a year towards the end of the academic year. We learn routines for team routine which is all members performing stunts, jumps, tumbles, dance and pyramid, we also learn stunt group routines which are made of 4/5 people and a routine of just stunts!
We achieved our best possible season last year and placing at every competition we entered including national competitions! The feeling you get when you smash a routine when you get off the mat has given each and everyone of us the drive to do better!
