University College Birmingham
and its Guild of Students (Students Union) serve over 7,000 students on vocational courses from FE to Post Graduate level, mainly with a focus of leisure, tourism and service industries. It’s a great pool to draw on for the Guild.

The University is still building, literally, in the Jewellery quarter of Birmingham. It is an exciting institution with an impressive history and remarkable links to the city and industry. Developing students’ potential is at the heart of everything.

The Guild has recently established its independent charitable status and is about to embark on research and planning for a future to match the ambitions of the University.

We are looking for the right person to work with the elected student officers, to build and lead a new staff team to take the Guild on this exciting journey.

You will be developing and implementing our new strategy, supporting the elected officers, leading the staff and safeguarding the guild’s governance.

We expect you to have some strong experience in Students Unions and/or other comparable organisations. You will also need to demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills. 

We want someone with the potential and ambition to match our own.
