EXECUTIVE ROLE INFORMATION

Full-time:

1. President

  • 37 hours per week, typically 9am-5pm with some evening and weekend work.
  • £16,169 per annum (2017/18 figure to be confirmed)
  • Key purpose of the role: lead the Students' Union and Guild Executive Team. Act as a key point of contact for University staff. Develop projects, events, campaigns and activities to improve the student experience for all UCB students.
  • Open to all final year UCB students.

Part-time paid:

2. Vice President Activities and Development

  • Up to 12 hours per week, £7.50 per hour
  • Key purpose of the role: lead the Students' Union in developing student activities and opportunities including sports clubs and non-sporting societies.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

3. Vice President Education and Representation

  • Up to 12 hours per week, £7.50 per hour
  • Key purpose of the role: lead the Students' Union on academic and representative issues including the implementation of the course representation scheme, as well as engagement of under-represented groups.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

4. Vice President Welfare and Communities

  • Up to 12 hours per week, £7.50 per hour
  • Key purpose of the role: lead the Students' Union on supporting students with welfare issues, as well as developing the UCB student community.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

Voluntary:

5. Sports Development Officer

  • At least 5 hours per week
  • Key purpose of the role: develop the UCB Guild's sporting opportunities including competitive and non-competitive participation in sport.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

6. Events and Entertainment Officer

  • At least 5 hours per week
  • Key purpose of the role: support the Vice President for Activities and Development with major events and student activities.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

7. Further Education Officer

  • At least 5 hours per week
  • Key purpose of the role: lead the Students' Union on the development of the student experience for Further Education students at University College Birmingham.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

8. Equality and Diversity Officer

  • At least 5 hours per week
  • Key purpose of the role: support the Students' Union in engaging with under-represented groups and ensure that Guild opportunities are accessible to all students.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

9. Raising and Giving (RAG) Officer

  • At least 5 hours per week
  • Key purpose of the role: lead on the coordination of the Guild's charitable work, as well as raising awareness for key campaigns, charities and services.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

10. EU and Overseas Officer

  • At least 5 hours per week
  • Key purpose of the role: support EU and Overseas throughout their time at University College Birmingham, developing specific activities and services to support them in their time at the institution.
  • Open to all returning UCB students.

Additionally, the Student Trustee roles and the Guild Marketing Assistant roles will be advertised after Easter.
