LGBT+ OFFicer - Emma DORR
Hello! My name is Emma Dorr, your brand spanking new LGBT+ Officer for 2018 and 2019.
I have been at UCB since 2016 to study BA HONS Specialist hair and media make-up artistry and currently entering my final year. As this will conclude my journey with UCB I wanted to make sure I go out with a bang with supporting the student voices further by becoming your LGBT+ officer.
As a pansexual woman, I have experienced my own struggles in society, raising my voice for others in the LGBTQA+ community for acceptance and equality for all gender identities and sexualities.
That’s why I am your officer, to bring equality and answer any questions for those who are confused about other sexualities and genders out there to bring peace and understanding throughout our university. Not only that, I want to be able to be an approachable figure to you guys, especially those whom are experiencing rejection from family and friends or figuring a way to come out in a safe or comfortable manner. No one is alone in this world, especially in our community and joining the LGBT+ society is a chance to meet fellow queer and allies at our university.
Not only that, but expect some exciting events in the future. What will they be? You’ll have to wait and see!
I hope to see you guys soon and enjoy your time at UCB!
“You better werk.” – Ru Paul.
